Senior Moment!

I have decided that laughter is in fact the best medicine. Just like every Sunday, Cactus and I took the girls to lunch. They picked Taco Bueno. We order our food and grab a table. When Cactus sits down and lays the receipt on the table, I just take a quick glance to see what our number is and notice two words at the bottom of the receipt..."Senior Discount". I ask if the cashier asked him about being a senior and he said that she had not; she must have just giving it to him. Insert laughter here! I laughed so hard, I swear my make-up ran. And to think that I was not feeling that great today!

I LOVE What I Do!

I am a woman who wears many hats. Wife, mom, sister, friend and business owner. I love all my "jobs". Sometimes, all of my hats are on my head at the same time. Yesterday was a good example of that. One of my businesses is I am a Senior Consultant for Southern Living at HOME. Since just recently losing 40 pounds, I needed a new picture for my website (www.southernlivingathome.com/erinkschroeder). Well, my other business is co-publisher of Abilene Woman magazine. Through this venture, I have met many other wonderful business owners. One of them is Debbie Riggs of Pure Photography. I have one word for her - FABULOSITY!! She met me at Relics for a "photo shoot". She brought her wonderful husband Mark along, and you could feel the love and respect that those two have for each other. After patiently "shooting" her not so photogenic subject, she took on the next task of the day...photographing Nan and I for the next issue of our publication. This hat is so fun to wear. Nan and I have so much fun together and this is the third shoot that we have done with Debbie. We laugh until we cry. So yesterday, I wore four hats (the wife and mom hats are ALWAYS on), and loved every minute!
