I am living in a Lonestar video! (Mr. Mom)

...Pamper smell in the Maytag dryer...crayons go up one drawer higher...rewind Barney for the 15th time...bubblegum in the baby's hair...sweet potatoes in my lazy chair...We've all been there at one time or another. Well, Tuesday was my day. I will give you the Reader's Digest version (you are welcome, Nan!). Returned Monday afternoon from a weekend in San Antonio watching my 14 year old play tennis. She did AWESOME!!! Promised family I would cook Osso Buco for dinner on Tuesday. Found out Tuesday morning that I had a tennis match that night at 8 p.m. Helped wrap 200 chocolate s'more kits for a wedding. Picked up food for a networking meeting at lunch and attended said meeting. Began preparing the Osso Buco at 2:45. At three o'clock, second grader's teacher reminded me that she had an Earth Day project due the next day. "No problem!" I say, with a smile. Think, think, think. Note to self...ask Delaney for creative ideas. My head was beginning to hurt. Returned home to finish preparing Osso Buco. Realized that I did not have brandy. What Irish/German Catholic family does not have Brandy?! Dash to liquor store. Five o'clock, finish preparing dinner to put in oven for 2 hours. Six o'clock, remember that I had not talked to Delaney's doubles partner's parents about the tournament in May. Deadline is midnight. Six-thirty. Talked to parents and they inform me that their daughter is NOT going to play with Delaney in May. Did I put all of that Brandy in the Osso Buco? Start calling other tennis parents to find a partner. Serve dinner to my wonderful, appreciative family. Leave instructions for husband and children on how to finish the Earth Day project. Give husband number of potential tennis partner and ask him to contact her if she has not called by 8 p.m. Head to courts. Play like I had never picked up a racket before (sorry, Missy!). Call home at 9:30 and am informed that husband has gone to bed and no one knows if there is a doubles partner. Get home...no doubles partner. So...she'll just play singles. Check out Earth Day project...WRONG! How are the birds suppose to get to the bird feed if there is not a HOLE in the feeder?!(aka plastic milk jug). Fix project. Drink wine. Drink wino. drunk vine...Oh...sorry! Go to bed. New day on Wednesday. Looking good! COFFEE POT CATCHES ON FIRE!!!!!

STILL NAIVE AT 40-SOMETHING!

I guess, or rather I KNOW, I am still so naive! You would think I was still around 12 years old, because I still think that there is good in everyone and everything! Even with the events that happened to occur to me and my gabbin' gal business partner Erin on this glorious day of all days....April Fools Day....I still believe in the good! I want to believe in the good and will continue to do so! Good days ahead for sure. I know most of you have no idea what I am talking about and that is probably a good thing. But for those of you who do, you know what I am talking about. Anyhow, ALWAYS look for the good and best in everyone. Try VERY HARD to do this and if you can't find any good, then MOVE ON! Which is what we did! Don't waste time on things that don't matter, because life is short enough anyway. So my mantra today and ever more is to love the "peeps" you're with, love the "peeps" you have yet to meet and continue to love the "peeps" that have gone on to the great beyond and are laughing hysterically saying ..."GIRL, are you kidding me??? You are SO WASTING YOUR TIME even thinking about it!"

Now go and gab with the the ones that mean the most!
Nan
